What personal data we collect and why we collect it

IP-Address

This IP-address is held by the server for as long as required to serve your request, and is deleted afterwards. We do not store your IP-address in our server logs.

Server Logs

The server providing this website stores information about the requests it receives in a logfile for technical reasons and for website access statistics. For each request, the following information is stored:

• Date, Time and Timezone of the Request
• Type and Version of the browser you use (if transmitted)
• Operating System of your computer (if transmitted)
• Referrer URL (if transmitted)
• Path to the requested resource
• Size of the transferred resource
• Request Status (success, failure code)

This information is required for technical reasons, specifically for managing the server and tracking down and solving any technical issues that may arise in the operation of the server and the software providing the services.

The access statistics merely identify the number of access to the website in a given time, and allow us to, e.g., discern the amount of interest in different parts of the website. Given that no personally identifiable information is stored in the logs, the statistics do not contain such information, either.

The Referrer URL

The referrer URL specifies the location which referred you to the page or other resource requested from the web server. This may be a web site containing a link to this blog. This information may be useful to us to diagnose problems with the website, in order to find the origin of missing links or similar.

In some cases, this address may contain additional information, such as the search terms being used in a search engine to find the web page.
